Health Fidelity is a San Mateo, Calif. healthcare tech start-up that was founded in 2011. Our company started as a best-in-class Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology and inference platform to analyze vast amounts of unstructured data in order to provide clinical and financial insights. Our NLP engine was developed in close collaboration with Columbia University, whose faculty and staff continues to work closely with Health Fidelity scientists to advance and refine the engine’s accuracy through a supervised machine learning feedback loop.
Today we are focused on helping payer and provider organizations address risk and quality in value-based payment models through our prospective and retrospective solutions. Our applications were designed with real-world workflow input from UPMC Health Plan, a key development partner and strategic investor in our company.
Vice President, Business Development
Michael brings more than 20 years of direct experience in multiple healthcare disciplines, including provider, payer, medical devices and clinical services. His passion for turning “it can’t be done” into “done” reflects his unique ability to align people, processes, and technology in a way that exceeds client expectations.
At Health Fidelity, Michael is responsible for the company’s business development strategy and execution. He works closely with our partners to identify and close information gaps in order to deliver higher quality care while reducing costs and producing better outcomes. Michael’s vision for Health Fidelity is to utilize its position as a leader in NLP technology to be the catalyst of change in markets such as Risk Adjustment.
Prior to Health Fidelity, Michael was the Managing Director of Accenture’s health management operations practice. Michael was also an early executive at MediCall, a clinical outsourcing startup, where he successfully scaled the company through to acquisition by Cognizant. Michael has a BS in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific.
Vice President, Engineering
Pranav RavalVice President, Engineering
Pranav manages all aspects of Health Fidelity’s engineering function as head of technology; from development and quality to devops and technical support. He excels at building and aligning engineering teams around common goals and has scaled the Health Fidelity engineering organization to meet the needs of a fast growing client base and a rapidly expanding product portfolio.
Pranav’s expertise centers around delivering high quality software systems of increasing scale and domain complexity. He has managed complex grid computing frameworks as well as massively scalable cloud platforms in domains as diverse as geospatial engineering and catastrophic risk modeling. Prior to Health Fidelity, Pranav was Senior Director of platform engineering at RMS.
Pranav holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from LD College of Engineering.
Co-founder, Chief Technology and Product Officer
Anand is one of the founders of Health Fidelity and is responsible for the company’s product strategy and execution and marketing initiatives. He has championed the cause of enterprise performance improvement by promoting electronic capture, exchange and analysis of healthcare data.
At Health Fidelity, Anand helped found the company, guided the development of its technology and fostered key relationships with UPMC and Columbia University. Prior to founding Health Fidelity, Anand was Vice President of EHR and HIE products at Optum. He came to Optum by way of acquisition of Axolotl Corporation, a visionary company in the HIE movement, where he was Vice President of products. Anand was a founding member of the Oracle Health Sciences business unit and headed the product organization that was responsible for creating the earliest commercial healthcare analytics products in the industry.
Anand has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley in addition to an MS in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Anand has an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
Vice President, Sales
Chuck is a leader in healthcare sales with over 15 years of experience in creating successful client partnerships. At Health Fidelity, Chuck employs his consultative approach with prospective clients to develop opportunities to address their business objectives and create mutual success.
Chuck is a veteran in the field of enterprise healthcare IT. Prior to joining Health Fidelity, he was responsible for delivering value-based enablement at Aetna’s Accountable Care Solutions group as Vice President. In this role, Chuck built relationships with providers to develop ACO, CIN and PCMH programs. Chuck has also held leadership roles at Cogent Healthcare, where he rapidly grew their acute care business and at McKesson Corporation, where he managed strategic provider relationships throughout the western United States.
Chuck has an Executive MBA from the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance from Miami University and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
General Counsel and Vice President, Operations
Phil is the backbone of Health Fidelity operations; he serves as General Counsel, Vice President of Operations, Corporate Secretary and Chief Privacy Officer. Phil’s areas of expertise include technology licensing, intellectual property management, dispute resolution and compliance. His greatest talent is providing Health Fidelity with the right framework, governance, human capital and infrastructure to support growth and go-to-market execution.
Phil ensures Health Fidelity’s compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations and manages the legal complexities of transactions with clients and partners. He protects the Health Fidelity IP while freeing up his peers to focus on their individual areas of expertise.
Phil has a JD from Duke University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Phil earned a BA in International Relations from Emory University.

With more than 20 years of leadership and experience in healthcare, Steve has successfully built, scaled, and launched technology businesses of varying size and maturity. His success lies in his ability to assess and find partners to support growth, fill in gaps and create better operational scale. As CEO at Health Fidelity, Steve is focused on building a great team that is strongly aligned with our mission and purpose.
Throughout his career, Steve has worked to directly improve upon our country’s healthcare system and his efforts have yielded a vast network of contacts and relationships that span the entire healthcare infrastructure. Steve held a leadership role at Stericycle Communications Solutions, a provider of cloud-based communication solutions for the healthcare industry after they acquired BerylHealth, where he was Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer. Earlier, Steve was Executive Vice President at H5, an innovative firm that developed NLP technology for e-discovery. Prior to that, Steve was Senior Vice President and General Manager at McKesson Provider Technologies.
Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. Mary’s College. He sits on a number of boards and acts as a mentor for the healthcare startup community.
Vice President, Client Services
Bill and his Pittsburgh-based client services team partner very closely with Health Fidelity clients to solve complex business challenges. Bill employs a holistic approach to solve systemic problems by identifying root causes while keeping an eye on the big picture.
Bill pioneered and oversees our unique risk adjustment assessment process, which involves an early pilot engagement with clients to help ascertain opportunity and readiness in order to evaluate long-term viability prior to broad adoption. He also directs a consultative, advisory team of experts that work alongside clients to integrate data, stand up new deployments, train coding staff, and provide support.
Bill has spent the last 25 years in the healthcare industry. He has helped several early to mid stage companies grow their businesses. Most recently, Bill was Vice President of strategy for Stericycle Communication Solutions. He has also served in senior management roles at Dynamed Solutions and Nationwide Better Health. Bill holds a BA in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.

With a passion for synthesizing data into actionable information, Adam helps Health Fidelity clients realize their full potential through the careful application of technology guided by analytics. Adam came to Health Fidelity in April 2015 from UPMC’s Technology Development Center, where he concentrated on medical intelligence solutions for CDI, quality management, and risk adjustment that leveraged natural language processing.
With experience that spans all three sectors of health care – payer, provider and health system, he’s often one of our clients’ most trusted advisors, a role that motivates him to think beyond our current offerings and consider ways to reshape the way in which clinical risk is understood and managed. Health Fidelity’s culture of controlled innovation and exploration is what Adam enjoys most about his work.
A Pittsburgh native, Adam holds a Master’s degree in Health / Health Care Administration / Management from Duquesne University and manages the consultative client services team based there. In the future, Adam’s long-term ambition is to bring together and align business with technology and create the next model of healthcare delivery. We’re certain he’ll be a factor.
Andrea SerraDirector, Marketing
The creative catalyst behind Health Fidelity’s brand and communications, Andrea credits her ability to simplify complex concepts into compelling and engaging narratives to her tenure in healthcare. For more than the last decade, Andrea’s career has been devoted to technology marketing across multiple facets of the industry including population health, provider, and payer.
At Health Fidelity, Andrea is the conduit between sales and prospective clients. A data-driven marketer, her primary responsibility is to intertwine the art of B2B selling together with precise marketing automation parameters to develop a reliable revenue engine. The ability to build marketing from the ground up and ‘do it right’ without legacy constraints is what attracted Andrea to the San Mateo startup – that and the promise of getting out of Michigan in the winter months to visit California.
With previous experiences at McKesson, Healthagen, and Accountable Care Solutions from Aetna along with a BA in Economics and French from Albion College, Andrea’s well positioned to attain her vision of maturing marketing into a strategic asset for Health Fidelity.
Michael SlivkenCorporate Controller
Formerly a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, Michele’s had exposure to a wide range of industries and approaches for managing cash, compliance and reporting. This breadth of experience affords Michele great insight into how to manage Health Fidelity’s limited resources to support fast paced growth.
Health Fidelity is Michele’s first foray into healthcare, and she’s fascinated by the dynamic nature of the industry. A veteran of start-ups, she enjoys designing the financial and business processes necessary to make sound business decisions. Her work often intersects with staff development, benefit administration, human resources, payroll, financial modeling and compliance which fuels her passion for learning.
At Health Fidelity, Michele and her team develop internal controls to safeguard company assets and comply with SOX regulations, while making certain financial reporting is accurate and reported to stakeholders in a timely fashion. Michele finds the expanse of responsibilities invigorating, and is gratified seeing results quickly materialize.

Christina SungDirector, Product Marketing & Strategy
At Health Fidelity, Christina serves as the link between the inside world of product development and outside world of market strategy. Her time is split between understanding the market needs in order to steer product development and ensuring that Health Fidelity’s products are properly articulated to resonate with the market. Her background is heavily rooted in healthcare and technology with organizational experiences from small start-ups to large companies such as Kaiser Permanente.
From her vantage point, Christina brings her love of developing solutions to address unmet needs into launching new products, exploring business cases for new innovations, and enabling multi-disciplinary teams to bring new solutions to market. As an early Health Fidelity hire, she’s motivated by seeing the direct impact that her insights have on company growth and strategy.
With a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, Christina aims to deploy her blend of business and technical know-how to continually decrease US healthcare inefficiencies, either as an entrepreneur or supporting organizations who have a similar ambition, like Health Fidelity.

Working with cutting-edge technology that has a meaningful impact on healthcare and also makes business sense is the unique opportunity that attracted Raj Tiwari to Health Fidelity. He works alongside talented engineers, clinical informaticists and data scientists to solve some of the hardest problems in healthcare with Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Large-scale Data Analytics, advanced UX design and industry-leading cloud operations.
Raj believes in achieving technological excellence through a balance of creativity and unwavering discipline. His role involves not just architecture of software, but also processes that allow our software to be developed reliably and run at scale. He’s committed to providing our clients with a high quality, secure product that they can count on.
Raj has an extensive background in delivering safe, reliable and highly available SaaS products as part of his leadership roles at UPEK Inc. (now part of Apple) and Nuance Communications. He has an MS from Oregon Health & Science University and a BS from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in Electrical Engineering.
