Health Fidelity is a San Mateo, Calif. healthcare tech start-up that was founded in 2011. Our company started as a best-in-class Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology and inference platform to analyze vast amounts of unstructured data in order to provide clinical and financial insights. Our NLP engine was developed in close collaboration with Columbia University, whose faculty and staff continues to work closely with Health Fidelity scientists to advance and refine the engine’s accuracy through a supervised machine learning feedback loop.
Today we are focused on helping payer and provider organizations address risk and quality in value-based payment models through our prospective and retrospective solutions. Abby Bilyeu Senior Vice President, Client Development
Alongside her strong customer-first philosophy, Abby Bilyeu brings nearly fifteen years of expertise developed in public and private segments of healthcare tech to her role serving Health Fidelity’s current and future partners. Beyond that, her experience with health systems deploying and operationalizing technology solutions makes her an excellent fit for our service and solution-based approach to customer success.
Prior to joining Health Fidelity, Abby served home and community-based care providers that have long put the patient in the center, and in recent years have been emerging to take on more risk on behalf of their communities. She was the vice president of client alignment at Netsmart Technologies, and prior to that, served as vice president of account management and sales operations for Change Healthcare and McKesson on a national scale.
Abby has a bachelor of science degree in marketing and sales management from Missouri State University, extensive client oriented leadership training, and Six Sigma.

John Blevins Vice President, Strategic Business Development
John brings over 25 years of healthcare technology experience and leadership to Health Fidelity, where he oversees Strategic Business Development. A commercialization expert, his career has centered around sales, marketing, business development, and corporate finance roles.
Throughout his career, John has enabled and driven growth for innovative healthcare technology companies, including dozens of venture-backed, early-stage companies seeking to disrupt the status quo, as well as market leaders such as 3M HIS and IDX Systems Corporation. John is passionate and dedicated to improving quality, reducing costs, and aligning stakeholders across healthcare.
John holds a Bachelor’s in Business from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MBA with honors from the University of Texas at Austin.

Joseph BonazzaDirector of Data Integration
With over a decade of experience in healthcare data integration, Joe understands the intricacies involved in the successful integration of healthcare data into products. With this knowledge, he leads a team of engineers in the implementation of creative and solution driven integration approaches to meet client needs.
Prior to Health Fidelity, Joe focused on integrating data from disparate sources into new products at UPMC’s Technology Development Center, including the clinical document repository Health Fidelity uses today. He also led data integration activities for a variety of projects and several large hospital mergers & acquisitions at UPMC. He has a passion for bridging healthcare data with clinical problems and the products that can address them.
Joe holds a BS in Management Science & Information Systems and Minor in Business Logistics from Penn State University, an MBA from Strayer University, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Vice President, Product
Emily has nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare IT product management and leadership, spanning pharma, biomedical research, and analytics. She briefly departed healthcare to develop a new business plan and lead business development for a recruiting firm and now returns to the field and her primary expertise as Health Fidelity’s vice president of Product.
Her unique expertise has come into play working with customers across the healthcare spectrum, collaborating with and developing product solutions for payers, administrators, providers, researchers, patients, and auditors. This positions her perfectly for Health Fidelity’s unique client mix, and goal of supporting both operational and clinical outcomes while supporting the quality of life of our partners’ patient populations.
Within her storied career in healthcare software, Emily’s passion for software product management is particularly focused on product strategy, innovation, and usability. As a result, her products and teams have won awards such as Most Innovative EHR and Product Management Team of the Year.

Adam GronskyVice President, Innovation
With a passion for synthesizing data into actionable information, Adam helps Health Fidelity clients realize their full potential through the careful application of technology guided by analytics. Adam came to Health Fidelity in April 2015 from UPMC’s Technology Development Center, where he concentrated on medical intelligence solutions for CDI, quality management, and risk adjustment that leveraged natural language processing.
With experience that spans all three sectors of health care – payer, provider and health system, he’s often one of our clients’ most trusted advisors, a role that motivates him to think beyond our current offerings and consider ways to reshape the way in which clinical risk is understood and managed. Health Fidelity’s culture of controlled innovation and exploration is what Adam enjoys most about his work.
A Pittsburgh native, Adam holds a Master’s degree in Health / Health Care Administration / Management from Duquesne University and manages the consultative client services team based there. In the future, Adam’s long-term ambition is to bring together and align business with technology and create the next model of healthcare delivery.

Jacqueline EngelVice President, Legal Operations
Jacqueline Engel has been a licensed attorney for more than 25 years with a primary focus in healthcare. During her legal career, among other areas of specialization, she provided legal services and legal counsel in the fields of IT contracting, HIPAA Privacy & Security, electronic health records compliance, payer strategy, and clinical and translational research. Jackie’s background in IT contracting and healthcare allows her to provide the legal leadership and guidance needed for Health Fidelity’s growing operations.
Jackie joined Health Fidelity after more than five years with Catholic Health Initiatives, a large non-profit health care entity with more than 100 facilities in 18 states, where she held the position of Corporate Counsel. Prior to Catholic Health Initiatives, Jackie served as a Contracts Attorney with the Office of Grants and Contracts for the University of Colorado Denver at the Anschutz Medical Campus where she was responsible for negotiating contracts related to clinical research. Jackie’s extensive legal experience also includes service as Assistant General Counsel for Denver Health and Hospital Authority; a position as a State of Colorado Assistant Attorney General in the Regulatory Compliance Section where she represented the Board of Medical Examiners, the Pharmacy Board, and the Board of Nursing Home Administrators; and several years in private practice during which she represented physicians, nurses, and hospitals in medical malpractice cases.
Jackie received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver and a Juris Doctor from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Evan has 20+ years of experience in health care analytics, risk adjustment, and software management and development. He has a wide variety of experience, having worked for health plans, medical groups, and software vendors. Evan holds two patents for analytic software and has led the development of applications intended to identify members in need of intervention for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Commercial markets on behalf of health plans and risk-bearing medical groups.
Evan comes to us most recently from Anthem where he performed the role of Director, Medicare Risk Adjustment Analytics and Strategy. Prior to that, he served as SVP, Enterprise Solutions at Altegra Health where he focused on integration of software systems to provide complete solutions for clients. Evan also spent time working for Optum where he drew upon his extensive industry experience to help health plans and medical groups overcome their risk adjustment challenges.
Evan has a BA in Psychology from University of California, Irvine and a Master’s degree in Psychology Research from California State University, Long Beach.
Nicole KeeganDirector, Engineering
Nicole, Director of Engineering, has been building healthcare solutions for over a decade. During her various roles at Health Fidelity, Nicole has nurtured several of the company’s products and services from proof-of-concept to widely used systems that provide better information for payers and providers alike. Nicole joined Health Fidelity by way of Optum, and has previously worked for Oracle in their Brisbane, Australia office. She enjoys providing tangible solutions for real-world problems and helping to create a vibrant working environment.
Nicole studied at Queensland University of Technology and has a Bachelor of Information Technology in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mathematics.

As Chief Commercial Officer, Robin leads Health Fidelity’s go-to-market strategy and the sales, marketing, professional services, and product teams. Robin brings more than 25 years of experience building and leading organizations through rapid growth and transformation. He has led teams throughout the US, Europe, and Asia, and is fanatical about developing effective, customer-driven leaders who can scale and adapt along with dynamic business needs.
Over the past decade, Robin has delivered a series of market-leading solutions to the healthcare provider market. Prior to joining Health Fidelity, Robin was VP/GM of the Clinical Documentation business unit of Nuance Healthcare, having previously grown Nuance’s medical transcription business from $25M to >$400M in annual revenues. In this capacity, Robin led the transformation of the market-leading provider speech recognition product from desktop to SaaS, growing subscription revenues tenfold in a three year period.
Robin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Williams College. He advises several early-stage technology companies, when not exploring the trails of Northern California and beyond.

Brian McDonaldChief Financial Officer
Brian McDonald is an accomplished senior finance and operations leader with over 20 years’ experience leading software and services companies, developing and executing aggressive growth plans. Prior to joining Health Fidelity, Brian was executive vice president and CFO of Health Language, a global clinical informatics technology SaaS and services company. At Health Language, he scaled accounting and finance and oversaw legal and HR activities from its startup phase through major growth. As the company matured, he led sales, product development, and client services, leading the business to strong year-over-year performance.
Previously Brian was CFO of Jones Cyber Solutions, a CRM technology company with operations in North and South America, Europe, and Australia, and senior vice president and CFO, of Carlyle Golf, an apparel manufacturer where he successfully led the company’s IPO.
Brian has a bachelor’s of science in accounting from the University of Wyoming and is a certified public accountant in Colorado as well as a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Kyle PattonVice President, Engineering
Kyle brings experience, predictability, and a proven track record of success delivering cloud services to our Engineering function. As our technical leader, Kyle drives development operations, security, and compliance for internal systems and customer solutions. Before joining Health Fidelity, he was the Director of Cloud Engineering and SaaS Operations at Devicescape, a startup focused on Wi-Fi experiences for mobile network operators. Prior to that, Kyle was based in Washington where he worked for Microsoft on the team that launched Microsoft’s Azure service platform.
Kyle is excited to be working at the intersection of health and technology, and looks forward to furthering Health Fidelity’s stature as a secure, trusted, and performance-driven service platform.

Andrea SerraDirector, Marketing
The creative catalyst behind Health Fidelity’s brand and communications, Andrea credits her ability to simplify complex concepts into compelling and engaging narratives to her tenure in healthcare. For more than the last decade, Andrea’s career has been devoted to technology marketing across multiple facets of the industry including population health, provider, and payer.
At Health Fidelity, Andrea is the conduit between sales and prospective clients. A data-driven marketer, her primary responsibility is to intertwine the art of B2B selling together with precise marketing automation parameters to develop a reliable revenue engine. The ability to build marketing from the ground up and ‘do it right’ without legacy constraints is what attracted Andrea to the San Mateo startup – that and the promise of getting out of Michigan in the winter months to visit California.
With previous experiences at McKesson, Healthagen, and Accountable Care Solutions from Aetna along with a BA in Economics and French from Albion College, Andrea’s well positioned to attain her vision of maturing marketing into a strategic asset for Health Fidelity.

Formerly a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, Michele’s had exposure to a wide range of industries and approaches for managing cash, compliance and reporting. This breadth of experience affords Michele great insight into how to manage Health Fidelity’s limited resources to support fast paced growth.
Health Fidelity is Michele’s first foray into healthcare, and she’s fascinated by the dynamic nature of the industry. A veteran of start-ups, she enjoys designing the financial and business processes necessary to make sound business decisions. Her work often intersects with staff development, benefit administration, human resources, payroll, financial modeling and compliance which fuels her passion for learning.
At Health Fidelity, Michele and her team develop internal controls to safeguard company assets and comply with SOX regulations, while making certain financial reporting is accurate and reported to stakeholders in a timely fashion. Michele finds the expanse of responsibilities invigorating, and is gratified seeing results quickly materialize.

With more than 20 years of leadership and experience in healthcare, Steve has successfully built, scaled, and launched technology businesses of varying size and maturity. His success lies in his ability to assess and find partners to support growth, fill in gaps and create better operational scale. As CEO at Health Fidelity, Steve is focused on building a great team that is strongly aligned with our mission and purpose.
Throughout his career, Steve has worked to directly improve upon our country’s healthcare system and his efforts have yielded a vast network of contacts and relationships that span the entire healthcare infrastructure. Steve held a leadership role at Stericycle Communications Solutions, a provider of cloud-based communication solutions for the healthcare industry after they acquired BerylHealth, where he was Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer. Earlier, Steve was Executive Vice President at H5, an innovative firm that developed NLP technology for e-discovery. Prior to that, Steve was Senior Vice President and General Manager at McKesson Provider Technologies.
Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. Mary’s College. He sits on a number of boards and acts as a mentor for the healthcare startup community.
Chief Operating Officer
Bill and his Pittsburgh-based client services team partner very closely with Health Fidelity clients to solve complex business challenges. Bill employs a holistic approach to solve systemic problems by identifying root causes while keeping an eye on the big picture.
Bill pioneered and oversees our unique risk adjustment assessment process, which involves an early pilot engagement with clients to help ascertain opportunity and readiness in order to evaluate long-term viability prior to broad adoption. He also directs a consultative, advisory team of experts that work alongside clients to integrate data, stand up new deployments, train coding staff, and provide support.
Bill has spent the last 25 years in the healthcare industry. He has helped several early to mid stage companies grow their businesses. Most recently, Bill was Vice President of strategy for Stericycle Communication Solutions. He has also served in senior management roles at Dynamed Solutions and Nationwide Better Health. Bill holds a BA in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.
